An Art Meets Science event for National Science Week – here Dr Kirsti Abbott from UNE Zoology introduces the project and the upcoming Ant Blitz science project. This year’s project from the North Western Science Hub extends the collaboration with the University, NERAM, the Armidale Tree group, Southern New England Landcare local schools and other sectors of the Armidale community.

Here’s photos the youth participants took, documenting the exhibition opening.
Jeanette, Glen and Marylin, the aged care residents who also took part in the 5 month long project, were there too.
The installation includes mixed media pieces, drawings, photos, video and a recorded monologue
Ciara and Lara gave a speech they had written, giving an account of the project and acknowledging the special contribution of the elderly participants.
Projects like Creating Memories provide a rare opportunity for young and old in our community to come together to share stories.
Arts NSW through their Regional Funding program and The Home Nursing Group supported the second of the Creating Memories projects.
We look forward to next year’s version.
