About

Social Ventures Media is a community based arts, media and communications enterprise operated by Laszlo Szabo.
SVM works specifically with Community Based Organisations, Not-For-Profits, Civil Society Organisations and NGO’s, using arts, media and strategic communications in a participatory way to build capacity and skills in communication, project documentation, public relations, public diplomacy and media presence in specific markets and for specific audiences.
SVM has operated since 2007 in the New England region of Northern New South Wales, extending its work to communities across northern NSW from Tibooburra in the Corner Country to Lismore, Port Macquarie to Coonabarabran.
SVM has also extended its work into the Pacific Region since 2008.
The projects vary in scale and duration, they are interdisciplinary and cross-sector. The underlying strategies, methods and practice are drawn from the field of Community Arts & Cultural Development.
SVM’s brief is to adapt and devolve industry best practice, firstly from the field of cultural production and from other fields such as communications strategy design, project design & planning, monitoring and evaluation, marketing and promotions.
All of SVM’s projects are highly participatory and collaborative, from the level of project and organisation personnel to the grass roots level with participants, community members and mentees.
