Out on location again recently with Brendan and Thalia, shooting footage for use in a series of short videos as part of an educational project on dementia – a learning tool on the functions of the different parts of the brain.

The client here is Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA): an independent research institute, a leader in brain and nervous system research, based in Sydney, Australia.

We travelled from Hungry Head and Valla Beach to the rainforest of The Promised Land near Bellingen, to Dorrigo then on to Armidale, Coonabarabran – then to the red earth country near Cobar.

TOTLA Trailer

An online Iso-creative project I was pleased to contribute to – 86 filmmakers, one page of script, each 60 – 90 seconds, free to interpret as we wished. Worked on “CleaverMan” with #BrendanBlacklock.
The key creatives are furiously assembling/editing to
the result. Here’s their first trailer.

Armidale Express story from Jan 28th

Asked to volunteer my services in staging, event logisitcs and site operations to help the community of Ewingar in northern NSW to stage a 3 day mini music festival to raise funds for those most affected by the major bushfires of September 2019. Some of the community lost their homes, sheds, fences and machinery in the first wave of major fires to hit NSW. As of late January the fires have been burning Queensland, NSW and Victoria in the worst fires we’ve experienced.

Ewingar Rising was a beautiful coming together and a significant act of healing for a devastated community.

On location again with Brendan Blacklock of Blacklock Media and Ben Powell, shooting additional footage for a digital media piece on the 1838 Myall Creek Massacre for Sydney Living Museums – Hyde Park – with a major renewal of the Hyde Park Barracks well underway. To re-open in 2020. Footage for a 9 screen presentation for a long term display.
We spent 5 days on location – Bingara on the Gwydir River, Tingha, Cranky Rock, Sawn Rocks and other locales to capture something of the landscape in this driest of seasons.
